''Who am I to do this?'' Are you doubting yourself?
🤔Who am I to do this?🤨 A client of mine asked me this question today, as she wants to write a kid's book, but has no previous writing experience and no connections. A better question is… Who are you not to? She felt that she should not even try, because she is definitely NOT ready and needs to put this dream on pause until she becomes better 'qualified'... 'What if other people judge me?' she asked She wanted to know what to do with the fear that people were going to judge her for taking on this goal.
⬆️You have a few limiting beliefs right there...⬆️ I could definitely relate, as I too was worried about 'putting myself out there' after qualifying in clinical hypnotherapy... The thing is that when you are following your calling, there will always be others who will get triggered and judgmental, that means you’re making a splash. BUT Others usually mirror what is within us... Do you doubt or judge yourself? Whenever you are following your calling, fears and limiting beliefs will come up, but that's OK, it means you are onto something good.
Would you rather fit in and keep playing it small, live up to other people's expectations and be a prisoner of your fears? OR …would you rather follow your heart and go where your path is taking you… to BIGGER BOLDER things?! You are ready! You have been training to fulfil your calling for lifetimes!
